We are SO glad the secret is out now! Although we had only known we were expecting for roughly two weeks, keeping it a secret was about to get the best of us! However, we wanted to wait and go to the doctor to make sure everything looked normal and healthy before we went public with our exciting news! Not only is this super exciting because it is our first child, but it's also the first GRANDCHILD for ALL of our parents! You can't tell me our lil peanut won't be spoiled!
Our first appointment went fabulous. My doctor (who is an absolute doll) said everything looked perfectly fine and normal! Lil peanut's heart was just a beating.. at 170 bpm (must have been doing some cardio!). We were given handouts, books, and magazines on just about anything you can think of that comes along with pregnancy! Our next appointment is March 27.. and then at the NEXT one (in approx. 8 weeks)-- we will find out the gender of our sweet baby!
The number one question I have been getting asked is "how are you feeling?". Well, honestly.. I can NOT complain. I have had some mild/moderate nausea from time to time over the past few weeks (one of the "aha" symptoms that led to our discovery!) and I have been extremely tired. But, I love sleep so much, that I don't mind an extra nap when I'm not working (which is going GREAT, by the way). I also know that I better take every opportunity to sleep now, so I'm doing just that. :)
Matthew and I started attempting to compile a list of possible baby names last night. We did not get very far. Bummer. I'm afraid it could be quite some time before peanut has any potential names. However, we have decided on nursery "themes" for both a boy or a girl.. and can't wait to move into our new house and start painting our nursery!
Here are a few pictures from the past week!
Peanut at 10 weeks and 5 days
My "bump" at 10 weeks and 5 days
